The DKD’s Cardiology Center addresses diseases of the heart and the surrounding vessels. The most common diseases in this area include heart attacks, angina pectoris, endocarditis, myocardial muscle diseases (myocarditis and cardiomyopathies), pericarditis, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia and congenital heart diseases such as cardiac vitia.

As a branch of internal medicine, cardiology has several points of contact with other specialities and works closely with these departments within the clinic. The Cardiology Center is particularly notable for its modern equipment, which includes a modern echocardiography laboratory with high-resolution heart and vascular ultrasound, 3D echocardiography, a cardiac catheter laboratory, a cardio computer tomograph and a cardio magnet resonance tomograph.
